Drumlin Capital Management, LLC is a specialty finance platform focused on opportunities linked to the physical commodity markets. Drumlin provides alternative capital and related advisory services to producers, processors, merchants, and consumers of raw materials globally.
We were founded in 2016 and are based in Westport, CT.
Trade Finance Direct Lending
Drumlin offers bespoke structured trade financing for market participants across the metals & mining, energy, and agricultural commodity sectors. Working closely with our clients, we develop creative funding solutions that are more flexible than the trade finance products arranged by traditional banks. Our financing solutions span all stages of the commodity lifecycle, from production to transit to post-sale.
Our direct lending strategy aims to mitigate downside risk by structuring products that are secured by trade flows and inventories of highly liquid, fungible goods, and which benefit from significant external credit enhancements. Historically, these self-liquidating, asset-backed loans have generated attractive risk-adjusted returns with low default rates, high recoveries, short duration, low volatility, and virtually zero correlation to other asset classes.
Carbon Credits
Drumlin applies tools and techniques developed for financing physical commodities to rapidly emerging and often intangible commodity assets, including voluntary carbon emission credits. Partnering with a leading environmental consultant and a large charitable foundation, we aim to provide liquidity and risk transference to a nascent industry that is critically important for achieving global climate goals. The projects we finance are selected not only with a focus on mitigating the effects of climate change, but also on achieving tangible ecological and socioeconomic sustainability objectives.
